Sepak takraw (IPA pronunciation: [seˈpak taˈkro]) (kick volleyball, or simply takraw) is a native sport of Southeast Asia, similar to volleyball, except that takraw uses a rattan ball (a kind of cane from the India) and only allows players to use their feet and head to touch the ball. It is a kind of cross between soccer and volleyball, very popular in Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia, Laos and Indonesia.
Place
It is traditionally played in Southeast Asian countries, as well as in the Chinese province of Guangdong, parts of Korea, Japan, and India.
Team
A match is played with two regus (teams), each made up of three players. One of the three players, called a tekong, will be at the back. and the other two players must be in front as strikers, one on the left and the other on the right.
